The Kaituna River is scenic New Zealand at its best, it takes a spectacular route through a deep river gorge with densely packed native forest all around. For the kayaker, the Kaituna is the perfect river. It offers all grades of whitewater with many great play-spots. It runs all year round and the water is pleasantly warm. You can kayak the Kaituna with absolutely no previous experience. You sit in the front of a tandem whitewater kayak and an experienced guide sits behind you. The guides have over 6 years safe experience and can confidently kayak the entire river section, including the highest commercially rafted/kayaked waterfall in the world - 7 metres. If you prefer you can walk around the big drops! For children the quieter sections of the upper river are kayaked. You can design courses/tours according to your requirements. |
