The scenery is awesome - as is the famous Hamilton 360° spin. Or take on the 'Thermal Adventure.' The longer version of the River Jet Experience takes you through the magnificent Tutukau Gorge and on to the Hidden Valley of Orakei Korako, (one of New Zealand's most spectacular geothermal reserves). For the thrill seekers try 'The White Water Safari.' Travel upstream past the historic Marae at Ohaki, through the sinking lands, with its natural lagoons teeming with waterfowl, and streams full of trout, past the giant geothermal cooling tower on through the Full James Rapids. 10 kilometres of white water takes you up to the turning point at the Aratiatia Power Station and its spectacular rapids. |
