Kaimanawa Forest Park

The Kaimanawa Forest Park is one of the finest remaining stands of beech forest in the North Island and home to one of our large carnivorous snails Powelliphanta. The northern part of the Kaimanawa Forest Park is accessible from Taupo. Drive 27 km along the Napier Taupo Highway (SH 5), turn right into Taharua Road then turn into Clements Road.
