Drive 24 km from Taupo on SH 1. Cross the Hinemaiaia Bridge and turn into the first road on the left. Drive up the road and take the first track on the left to the river where there is a carpark. The walks in the Hinemaiaia Scenic Reserve begin from here. The Hinemaiaia is a trout-spawning stream and the tracks on both sides of the river are maintained for angler's access. |
